I had a bunch of tapes I hadn’t been able to watch in years – partly because the equipment was outdated, and partly because I never labeled them. I had no idea was even on them!

I kept hearing about FOREVER Digitization. So eventually, I thought, “Why not give it a try?” I was so nervous to send in my tapes. What if I didn’t get them back? All those “what ifs” swirled in my mind – but I finally did it.

When they came back… oh, the happy tears.

My last baby – and my only girl. We had taken more videos than photos, and I had forgotten most of that footage even existed. There she was, freshly home from the hospital, and all our early moments with her. Absolutely priceless.

But even more than that… I heard my dad’s voice again. I truly didn’t think I ever would.

He passed away unexpectedly, and I didn’t get to know him growing up. But we reconnected in my twenties. He lived far away, so while we spoke often, we didn’t see each other much. We visited back and forth a few times, and although we used a photo camera, back then, not every picture turned out.

I had completely forgotten that on our last trip to see him, I brought a video camera – for the first and only time. I didn’t remember capturing anything meaningful… until now.

And then, there he was. I saw him with my children. I heard his voice. I cried – and I still do when I think about the footage. That moment means everything to me. Thank you, FOREVER Team!

After digitizing my memories with FOREVER, I was at an ancestry conference and spotted a FOREVER booth. I stopped to say “hi” and asked the woman there to please pass along my gratitude and share my story. The next day, the same sweet lady saw me again, and we got to talking. She introduced me to all things FOREVER (outside of Digitization), and now I’m hooked. That woman became my Ambassador. She’s not pushy – she just shares, and she’s always there for any questions I have.
